ELF HD Mattifying Cream Foundation Review

Hey y’all!

So…I’ve been meaning to review this product for a while now, and let me tell you it’s been sitting on my vanity getting lots of use in my daily routine, and yes I know there are plenty of reviews out there about but; I just really wanted to tell y’all what I think about it and how it work for me, and now that I’ve been using this foundation for sometime now, and I feel I can give an honest review on it.

Also on a side note I will be posting a review on ELF’s Acne Fighting Foundation VERY soon, so check back in with me daily for updates.

So I’m going to jump right into it; but first I’m going to tell you what their website/box says about their product: This high-definition, oil-free, lightweight foundation is perfect for normal to oily skin types. The cream-to-powder formula minimizes fine lines and leaves a natural, long-lasting, matte finish

Now I bought the foundation in two shades (Caramel & Almond), because I really didn’t know which one would look best on me, and swatches are always a little iffy with me when it comes to picking out foundation, and as I couldn’t test it before hand I got the two shades that looked closes to my skin tone, and lucky enough for me I can use both.

Caramel will work just fine for me in the winter months or used as a highlight in the summer; and Almond will work for me in the summer months, or used as a contour in the winter. And for the price I really can’t complain so I won’t lol

Now this foundation is geared for oily skin types like me, so if you have dry skin this foundation is NOT for you, as it will stile in any creases or wrinkles you may have and make dry spots more noticeable.

Price: $6 for 0.34oz (9.5g) of product

Things I like:
·         The foundation feels very lightweight
·         The coverage is medium to full, with some buildup
·         Very pigmented
·         It’s looks very natural and not cakey or flakey
·         I found that the foundation did its job, keeping my face matte for around 4 hours before I had to touch up my T-Zone.
·         The packages is very sleek and lightweight
·         It comes with a built in mirror
·         The price is more then on point running for $6, I paid $3 for mine with a 50% off code ( are always running sales, so don’t worry!)
·         It’s easy to apply
·         It’s oil free
·         Doesn’t really have scent, which I’m really loving

Things I don’t like:
·         not enough shades to chose from (I found mine, but I can see that it could be a problem for some people)
·         the sponge that comes with it, is trash (but that’s really not a big deal, I don’t really you those anyway)
·         The label is way too tiny, I wish they printed the expiration date on the bottom, had the shade name printed bigger and maybe the ingredients also. Now all this information is on the box, put really who's keeping that around.

Overall Rating:  4.5/5
My biggest Con is not having a larger color range, hopefully that will change soon

Question: have you tried this foundation yet, and what do you love/hate about it?
