Lazy Girl Post: DIY Lip Scrub

Today I’m going to be talking about and teaching you guys, how to make your own DIY Lip scrub, and how to use it.

I thought now would be the perfect time to post about this, since here in New England the weather is very cold and windy, and we all know when the cold hits, our lips are going to need a little more TLC. oh! And the best part about this? You most likely have everything in your kitchen.

So here is a recipe I found that I like, and that works for me, and if you end up making it, let know below, or tag me VIA: @HafsAR on Instagram or Twitter.

Okay so let’s get started, so items and ingredients that you’re going to need are listed below.

Items needed:
·         Mixing Bowl or Cup
·         Something to mix with
·         Measuring Spoons
·         Jar to hold your Lip Scrub (an old Blistex Jar, that’s been cleaned and dried, works just fine)

Ingredients Needed:
·         1/2 tsp Granulated Sugar
·         1/4 tsp Brown Sugar
·         1/8 tsp Virgin Olive Oil or Coconut Oil
·         A Dash of  Ground Cinnamon (Optional, but great for that warm winter scent)
Note: when mixing you, want your scrub to be Saturated not wet!

Making your Scrub:
·         Mix both sugars together, breaking up any and all clomps.
·         Add the Olive or Coconut Oil into the mix, at this point you’re going to notice that the mixture will start to darken. That’s normal so no worries.
·         After mixtures is Saturated not wet with your choice of Oil; you can start adding the Cinnamon, if you’re using it.  Now with the cinnamon you can add as much or little as you like, it’s really only used for added scent than anything else.

How to Use it: Your lips should be dry with no product on them. Now take a small pea size amount of your lip scrub on to your finger and rub in a circular motions for about 10-15 seconds or until all dead skin is gone, repeat if needed, than wash off, and apply your favorite Lip Balm. Easy as that, now you have smooth soft lips.

Question: What’s your favorite lip balm, and how often do you buy it?
