DIY Glitter Clutch

Today’s post is going to be a fun, easy, and fashionable DIY! In this post I’m going to show you how to make your own Glitter Clutch.

So basically I've been doing a lot of DIY project lately and I really wanted to share this one with y’all, as I've found that it’s pretty easy to make and cost next to nothing, and you can really get creative and play with it and make it your own.

Random fact… I pretty much always stitch by hand, as I find it relaxing, and it reminds me of when my grandmother taught me when I was younger.

I also find this project is great because you can really customize it to your liking, by added gems, beads or anything else you can think of.

Okay so let’s get into it!!!

What you’ll need:
·         Glitter Foam Pieces or any Slightly hard Fabric (I Picked up an 8 pack with 4 color, that comes with two of each colors,  from Dollar Tree)
·         Scissors
·         Pen or Pencil
·         Ruler
·         Velcro
·         Thread and Needle
·         Decorative Items (Optional)
·         Glue
·         Water
·         Paint brush or a Sponge

1.       you’re going to want to draw a line with the ruler, about half an inch all the way down, on both sides and one going across the bottom (note: you’re going to draw on  what’s going to be the inside of your clutch)
2.       repeating the same on the other sheet as well,  (note: these were already cut pieces from the dollar store, so I didn't have to cut to size)

3.       now place both pieces back to back, the lines should be matching up on both sides  (note: the glitter side should be touching each other while facing inward, with the plain side facing out)
4.       now  sew both pieces together  using the lines you've made as a guide line, making sure that the stitching you made is keeping them together ,then repeat making sure that the stitch is strong and secured (note: you should always sew inside out, so the stitching won’t show, once your done)
5.       after all three lines are sewn together, turn the clutch inside out (note: the glitter side should now be facing out and the plain side inward)
6.       now the velcro I have has a sticky back much like a sticker, so go ahead and place in the center of your clutch, (Note: I have the long strip of Velcro, so I had to cut and make the Velcro to the size I wanted)
7.       And you’re done!!!
·         Optional: You can glue or sew on things… like buttons, gems, and things like that

Final Touches:
Sometimes the glitter will have fallout, so you’re going to want to seal it to keep it looking fresh and glittery for a long time to come, it’s easy to do, and will also make the glitter smooth to touch.
1.       Pour 3/4 part liquid glue into a plastic cup/bowl
2.       Mix 1/4 part water into cup and mix
3.       Use a paintbrush or sponge to apply to the outside of your clutch, wait for it to dry and repeat

Peace and Love <3
